About Stand alone program

I am not completely convinced it provides a true "stand alone" environment as would be expected withcommercial software programmed with C, C++ etc.I understand (and am open to be corrected) that MS Access does have the ability to be compiled as a stand alone, even if it is simply giving the usera copy of the 'run time' files to allow them to use the project if they don't have Access installed on their machine.Perhaps someone else with more knowledge can add to this thread.Best wishes. 04-07-2019, 08:53 AM #5 Forum Contributor Re: converting to stand alone program I am interested on compiling an excel file...Following this thread and hope it can also help me.

03-13-2019, 02:07 PM #1 Registered User converting to stand alone program I have a large spreadsheet that I have developed and it is working great, thanks to much help from the forum experts, and I am wanting to convert it to a stand alone program/ application. I am wanting to know if this file needs to be developed to some anticipated size before converting/ compiling it, or is there a way to expand it afterward. This file gets data entered into it on a daily basis. As of now, if I need to add a tab/ sheet, I copy a 'template' tab and rename it as needed.I guess my main question would be; Will I still be able add additional tabs/ sheets to this if it were compiled? Or would I have to add what I need to a backup or template copy and compile it again? 03-13-2019, 02:54 PM #2 Re: converting to stand alone program .First ... you'll have to find a product that converts Excel to an executable. As far as I know, it does't exist.But if it does, I hope someone let's us know. 03-14-2019, 10:23 AM #3 Registered User Re: converting to stand alone program Thank you!Although I did see something on the internet that says it converts your excel files to .exe file format, I was not sure what I would have to do otherwise, even if I did get the program. Or if I could expand my file later as stated in my initial question.I believe the file I looked at is called xlcompiler and it said it was released on March 12, 2019. So its new and possibly not tested much.Thanks again, and for now I will just continue to tweak my file as needed to keep it running smoothly and quickly
